Jaguars’ plight
Jaguars are currently seen as ¨near threatened¨ due to deforestation and the cruel acts of inhumane poachers. The breaking up of forests through encroachment by mankind is also playing an atrocious role in wreaking havoc to their habitat and lifestyle.
Recovery
Although it remains yet to be seen if Dýaira can make a full recovery, there has been positive signs. Currently, she has regained mobility in her legs. However, there is a long way to go before she can walk again.
Hope
Dýaira stands for ¨brave Jaguar¨ in Ecuador. She has become a national symbol of hope and for the need for conservation in Ecuador. We do hope for her full and speedy recovery!
